Space… I’m pretty sure everyone feels at some point like they just don’t have enough of it be that in just a singular room or in their whole house.
Whilst there isn’t much you can do physically to make the room bigger there are tips and tricks you can use to make a it look and feel like it has more space.
- Have a darn good tidy up! Try and have more than just a quick spring clean, pick all the bits and bobs you have individually and ask yourself ‘Do I really need this?’ If the answer is no then it’s charity shop time!
- A lick of paint goes a long way, try sticking to cooler tones and neutral shades to expand space. Just make sure your use good quality painting and decorating tools as pale colours can be tricky when trying to achieve a good finish!
- If you have low ceiling try using mirrors to bounce light around the room and create the illusion of space. You can also try fixing shelves slightly higher than you normally would as this can make it seem like the ceilings are higher than they actually are and make the room feel much less claustrophobic!
- Consider removing your doors… A bit of a big step I know but by removing these barriers from every room space will flow so much better. Consider curtains or sliding glass doors as a replacement.
When space is an issue it’s important you prioritise making changes to your home to make sure you are comfortable and content, after all the home is where the heart is!
